Iraq War Discussion Points
- The Liberation of Iraq. We can't destroy Iraqis and their country in
order to free them. Iraqis have not asked for this war. They love their
country and are defending their land not their dictator.
- Weapons of mass destruction. To ensure disarmament, we use our
military war machine? The use of weapons is the problem, not the possession of
them. Lets all disarm.
- No link to Al Qaeda. The CIA and the FBI have both confirmed this.
- Threat to the world. This is the U.S. governments foreign policy.
We have turned world opinion against us because we are seen as an aggressor
nation. Surrounding countries are beginning to aid Iraq.
- Terrorism. Unprovoked attacks breed hatred and terrorism.
- UN charter. We violate international law, but demand that Saddam
Hussein follow it.
- Inspections were to lift sanctions, not to continue warfare. The
U.S. started building up troops while pretending to promote inspections.
- Let Iraq be a sovereign nation. The U.S. has promised Iraqi oil
field management to U.S. corporations. This is occupation, not autonomy.
- Iraq is a humanitarian and environmental disaster. This is because
of the first Gulf War, sanctions, and this war.
- The Constitution has given us our rights; not soldiers fighting
halfway across the globe.
We believe this war is about U.S. corporate domination, not Iraqi Liberation.
