March 18 join us at Fountain Park for recognition of anniversary of Iraq invasion, and in the evening at Wonderful World Coffeehouse for Peace Music Benefit Concert!!

We joined our friends at Oshkosh Oct 26 2005 with a candlelight Memorial for the 2000 US military casualties in Iraq.

Peace Seekers' Bylaws

  1. Membership Fees: $15 per year.
  2. Active members will:
    1. Agree with our mission statement of non-violence and have received it.
    2. Attend at least one of the weekly meetings a month
    3. Contribute towards the group in any way that fits with the persons talents and means which could be: monetarily, through activities, helping brainstorm, etc.
  3. Decisions will be made by consensus, which means that all voices will be heard and members will come to a mutual, satisfying agreement, after having had the chance to express all related issues and their concerns.
  4. There will be 2 co-facilitators responsible for:
    1. overall coordination of the group, including contacting Peace Action and other peace groups, and the media
    2. taking care of the money if the treasurer is absent for 2 weeks or more
    3. presiding over the meeting and keeping to the agenda
  5. There will be a secretary who will be responsible for recording the attendance at each meeting and the major points of discussion and decisions made during that meeting.
  6. There will be a treasurer who will be responsible for collecting and keeping the dues and donations.
  7. Choosing a program will be decided upon as a group. The voting member who thought up the idea of the program has the option to lead the meetings that serve as preparation for the program until the program is completed. This person will be in charge of coordinating the program, including contacting the speakers and the local media for advertising.

Sheboygan Peace Seekers is a peace and justice organization which works for a world where human needs are met, the environment is preserved, and the threats of war and nuclear weapons have been abolished. We are committed to non-violence as a way of life and offer our members opportunities for education, lobbying, and public witness.
